Overview:

Ält Magazine is a magazine and media platform dedicated to alternative photography as a tool for expanding our understanding of the world. The project explores photography as a physical process involving material interaction — plants, chemical reactions, and sunlight — where image-making becomes a direct contact between human and environment.

The identity system is built around the idea of the shadow as a result of contact between light, object, and material, which lies at the core of photographic practice. This concept is translated into typography through controlled blurring, turning text into a soft imprint rather than a fixed form.

Developed as a diploma project at HSE Art and Design School, the system includes social media design, merchandise, practical tools for creating photographic prints, and a website, forming a cohesive ecosystem where design extends the logic of the photographic process itself.
